Science et Cité (Science and society)

The Science et Cité Foundation is a neutral interface between the sciences and the public. Their objective is to encourage exchange between scientists and citizens and thus create a climate of mutual trust.

To do justice to this mission, Science et Cité has initiated diverse activities: dialogue platforms, interactive exhibits, projects welcoming personal contributions and thoughts. These activities appeal to various target groups:

• Children and youths, to inflame their interest in science
• Adults, so that they can expand their knowledge and exchange views with the experts
• Scientists, who can address the questions that are preying on people's minds
• Diverse key players in science communication who wish to expand their network

Science et Cité was founded in 1998 and their head office is located in the Old Town of Berne. Regional branch offices are located in the Suisse Romande (French-speaking Switzerland) and in the Ticino (Italian-speaking Switzerland).

Science et Cité ist als Kompetenzzentrum für den Bereich Dialog den Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz angeschlossen.
