Skills Kiosk

Empowering children through playful invention and exploration

• In our low-threshold Skills Kiosk workshops, children and young people experiment, develop their own ideas, and discover technology and the natural sciences in a playful way.
• Our activities in invention and exploration are aimed at children and young people aged 5 to around 13. For older youth and parents with preschool children, we are happy to create tailored programmes.
• Our mobile project offering brings science and creativity directly on site to youth centres, all-day schools, and parent-child programmes.
• Our activities foster curiosity and hands-on, self-directed learning, especially in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). We use everyday materials, upcycling, and the natural environment.
• We work in a process-oriented way and focus on “tinkering”: trying things out, experimenting, and rethinking. Children and young people learn how to solve problems creatively, work in teams, and deal constructively with mistakes—while having fun and experiencing real moments of success.

We create access to extracurricular education and STEM promotion

• Early STEM promotion and parent education lay the foundation for sustainably supporting children throughout their educational journey.
• Low-threshold programmes in all-day schools and in open youth work expand learning and experience spaces and foster a sense of self-efficacy.
• 4,000 children, young people, and adults have already benefited from the Skills Kiosk. We specifically reach children and families who often lack access to extracurricular opportunities, thereby making a concrete contribution to greater educational equity.
