The Science et Cité Cinéma is a documentary film festival for student filmmakers. Films about peoples, culture, nature, technology and the sciences were shown, which had been produced by university or technical college students. Multi-media productions that combine cinematic and textual elements are increasingly gaining in importance and popularity with the sciences. Just how much significance is apportioned to scientific films, however, differs greatly, depending on the university, college or academy. Interdisciplinary and cross-university exchange only takes place on the sidelines.
Science et Cité Cinéma is a platform for young filmmakers, where they can present their works in a non-academic setting. Moreover, it provides a place for networking between students, academics, representatives of the film industry, filmmakers and interested amateurs.
