Humans and other primates rely on social information when dealing with uncertainty. In this talk, we will reflect on whether our decisions are mostly independent or socially influenced. We will head about research on gibbons, chimpanzees, monkeys, and children to explore how social environments shape curiosity, learning, and decision-making across species. Together, we will ask a broader question: to what extent are we really the authors of our own behavior?

Dr. Saein Lee is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Zurich. Her current research examines what drives curiosity and how social cues shape exploration, learning, and decision-making in both humans and other primates.
